Changes

Palmer’s mother says his father has been changing. What do you think she means by this? How do these changes show in his father’s actions?

  2. I think she means that his father is changing by killing pigeons again because when he was little he was the wringer master.
They change by when Palmer was 9 years old his dad liked pigeons but when Palmer turns 10 years old his dad turns to like pigeons because Palmer is asked to join the gang. The gang is a group of boys trying to wring the necks of poor innocent pigeons.

  3. I think that Palmer's mother means that ,when she said that Palmer's father is changing a bit, he grew to not enjoy pigeon killing and shooting .These changes show when he starts to avoid Pigeon Day and starts to even to stay home! Also, these changes show when he finds out about Palmer's pigeon, Nipper, then, he started to like pigeons a bit and chose not to shoot the pigeons because he knew that Palmer would hate to see a pigeon like Nipper die!

  5. What I think Palmer`s mother means by Palmer`s father is changing by his father not talking about his wringing and pigeon shooting trophies anymore knowing the fact that Palmer does not want to be a wringer.Another change is that he does not shoot pigeons anymore.

  6. When Palmers mother says his father is changing, I think that means that he not going to be a winger any more.these changes in Palmers father show that he will not be a winger because one night he went into Palmers room and looked into his closet and saw apigeon and just left it alone.

  8. I think that Palmers mother means when she says that palmers dad is changing that he used to love shooting pigeons at the begging of the book and at the end of the book he does not shoot pigeons at all.It shows that Palmers dad changed when he did not go to pigeon day and staded at home.Another change was when Palmers dad stoped shooting pigeons because he found out about nipper,Palmers pigeon, then he started to like pigeons and did noy shoot thm becaues he knew that Palmer would hate to see a pigeon died.

  9. When Palmer's mother says his father is changing I think she meant that his father is starting to like pigeons and not want to kill them. We know he used to shoot pigeons because at Palmer's 10th birthday the gang saw the trophy of shooting the most pigeons and said that Palmer's father is someone they want to be like. But Palmer's father disagreed and said no. When he found out Palmer had a pigeon for a pet he left the pigeon alone instead of killing it. He says to Palmer "You don't have to be a Wringer. You have a choice."

  13. I think that when Palmer's mom says your father is changing she means that he does not like killing pigeons any more. He shows this with his actions when he will not enter the contest to kill pigeons and says he will not kill Nipper and instead keept him as a pet. He also does not talk so much about the golden pigeon trophy.

  21. When Palmars mom said that Palmar's dad is changing I think she means that he has become a nother person and he will not make him do things that he does not want to do. I think his changes show his action like when he said to Palmar that he has to be a wringer.
