Nipper

After Palmer feeds the pigeon for the first time he keeps asking himself, “Why did I do that?" But he knew why. He just did not want to say, not even to himself”. What do you think it is that Palmer doesn’t want to say? Why do you think Palmer risks his reputation to care for Nipper?

  1. I think Palmer does not want to say that he enjoys and likes the pigeon.Ithink he cares for the pigeon because he thinks the pigeon needs to live instead of the pigeon being wringed.

  2. I think he does not want to say that he has a
pigeon in his room. He risks his reputation to
care for nipper because he does not want anyone
to know that he has been hiding a pigeon in his room.

  3. Palmer doesn't want to say he likes the pigeon and that he wants to care for and protect the pigeon. People would think he was strange and different but he didn't want the pigeon to die so he gave up his secret to save the pigeon.

  6. I think that Palmer did not want to say that he loved the pigeon and cared for the pigeon because, every ten year-old would think he was strange and wierd because, they would all be wringers and he would stand out and be the only kid that was 10 and still not be a wringer.

  7. I thin that Palmer does not want to say that he does not want to kill pigeons and he does not want to see that pigeon die. I think Palmer risks his reputation to care for Nipper becauese he does nit want to see Nipper get his neck wrong and killed.

  8. I think that what Palmer does not want to tell his self is that he really does have a pigeon and he WANTS to care for it. Palmer risks his reputation to have a pigeon because he has a habbit to care for it and he doesn't want to let it go yet since his bond with the pigeon is too strong and he takes Dorothy's advice of doing what he wants to do.

  18. Palmer fed the pigeon because he knew that he was starting to like pigeons and he did not want to admit it to himself. I think he risked his reputation because he didn't care what people thought and he didn't want to wring Nipper.

  22. The thing that I think Palmar does not to say is "I did that because I love pigeons and I do not want to be a winger but I don't want my friends and family to know." I think the reason why Palmar risks his reputation to care for Nipper because he likes her but Beans,Mutto, and Hennery don't like her and Palmer does not want to get beatten up or made fun of.
