Pigeon As A Pet

Why do you think the author chooses to end the story with a question from a child in the crowd asking for a pigeon as a pet?

  1. He ends the story with a kid asking for a pigeon as a pet because he wanted to end the story with
    detail.

  2. The author ends the story with a kid asking to keep the pigeon as a pet because he loves the pigeon so much he doesn't want Palmer to keep the secret anymore from anyone.

  5. I beleive that the author of this book ended the story with a question coming from a boy asking to have a pigeon as a pet because, the author probably wanted to show that the boy is another pigeon lover as Dorothy and Palmer are and to also end the story with a bit of a mystery of why he would want a pigeon because, at the Pigeon Day practice with the little kids, they all wanted to wring a real pigeon and probably, the author wants the readers to wonder wether the boy wanted a pigeon to wring it or to care for it.

  6. I think the author ended the story with a child asking for a pigeon as a pet because, the child wants to have a pigeon just like Palmer`s pigeon.

  7. I think that at the end of the story the child asks if he can have a pigeon for a pet because Palmer showed them that they don't have to wring a pigeon’s neck and kill it. But that you can be kind, gentle and take care of pigeons so a child got the message and asked if he/she could have a pigeon for a pet.
